Frequently asked questions

What it costs, how developers are vetted and what happens after you hire.

How much does it cost to hire a developer through ConnectorIQ?

Developers start at $1,500 a month, paid directly to the developer, plus a one-time $1,800 fee to ConnectorIQ when you hire. There is no monthly markup and interviews are free.

What are the monthly rate ranges?

Every developer is in one of four monthly rate bands: $1,300–$1,700, $1,700–$2,000, $2,000–$2,500 and $2,500+. Profiles show the band, and you pick the bands that fit your budget when you submit a request.

How is ConnectorIQ different from a staffing agency?

ConnectorIQ charges once. Agencies and many talent platforms add a margin to the developer's pay every month for as long as they work for you. With ConnectorIQ you pay the $1,800 fee once and the developer's full rate goes to the developer.

Where are the developers located?

Developers come from several nearshore and remote regions, including the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Brazil and the EU. Each profile shows the developer's country and working-hour overlap with US time zones, and your request states the overlap you need.

How are developers vetted?

Each developer passes a timed technical assessment with a practical task and records a short video introduction. Claude scores technical skill and AI-tool proficiency from the assessment, and English and communication from the video. Identity is verified through Stripe Identity before any profile is shown to a company.

Do the developers speak English?

Yes. English is scored from each developer's video introduction, and the score is on the profile you review, so you can watch the video and judge for yourself before you interview.

What happens if the hire doesn't work out?

You get a 30-day replacement guarantee. If the developer doesn't work out within 30 days, ConnectorIQ finds a replacement at no charge. The guarantee is replacement only; the hiring fee is not refunded in cash.

Do I pay anything to interview developers?

No. Submitting a request, reviewing profiles and interviewing are free. You only pay the one-time fee when you decide to hire someone.

What do I see before I hire?

You see the developer's scores, rate band, stack, years of experience, time-zone overlap and video introduction. Contact details unlock after you pay the hiring fee, and interviews happen on links provided by the platform.

What does AI-fluent mean?

It means the developer has shown, in a graded assessment, that they use AI coding tools critically: they verify, correct and constrain the output instead of accepting it blindly, and they understand agents, tool use, MCP, RAG and evals. AI proficiency is scored separately from general technical skill.
